Fundraising

Did you know - donations from passionate supporters are an essential part of our income? They allow us to run weekly activities and events, but most importantly to keep linking volunteers with lonely older people in Wokingham.

The great thing about fundraising for the Link is that it can be as simple or elaborate as you like! Whether it's a coffee morning, afternoon tea, running a marathon, doing a skydive or organising a black tie event, raising £20 or £200, every penny counts. Get your friends and family together, to celebrate friendship!

Summer fundraising ideas

When the sun's shining and the evenings seem to last forever, it's time to plan some outdoor fun which has the added benefit of supporting a local charity.

  • host a garden party or barbeque

  • gather your friends and family for a special afternoon tea

  • set up a garden cinema night

  • offer a dog walking service

  • pamper party – crack open the fizz, face masks and nail polish collection and get the girls over!

  • cocktail evening – take a trip to the obscure spirit aisle and have a go at making some new and exciting cocktails

  • a skydive – if you're scared of heights, this is sure to impress your friends into making a generous donation

  • Come Dine With Me – bring out the competitive spirit and try something new in the kitchen
