Swinging for good
Thank you, Easthampstead Rotary Club!
What a day! On Thursday 30 April, The Rotary Club of Easthampstead hosted a Charity Golf Day at East Berkshire Golf Club in aid of The Link Visiting Scheme and it was a brilliant success.
Twenty teams joined us on the course for 18 holes, with a breakfast roll to set them up and a post-match dinner, raffle, and auction to round the day off. It was a really great event, and we're so grateful to everyone who took part or helped to organise it.
Congratulations to the winning team, Birdies & Beers, who scored an impressive 88 points, well played!
2nd Team Place was Hallmark Care Homes – with a score of 86 points – they also sponsored the 16th hole
The Straightest Drive on the 15th was won by Connor Murphy (SAP Machines team)
Individual Winner with 39 points was Richard Cox (Bell & Bottle Boys team)
Nearest the Pin on the 16th was Alan Poole (James Cowper Kreston team)
A special thank you also goes to Blandy & Blandy Solicitors for sponsoring the Nearest the Pin competition on the 5th hole. It was brilliantly won by Jeff Smallbone, who landed just 11 feet from the pin.
Our other 2 hole sponsors were Cala Homes on the 3rd hole and Intersurgical on the 1st.
All the funds raised will go towards supporting our Link Friends, older people in the local community who benefit from the visits and companionship our volunteers provide. Events like this one make a real difference to the work we're able to do, and we're so thankful to the Rotary Club and everyone involved for their generosity.
