Christmas

Giving the gift of friendship

For many, Christmas Day is a day for family, for getting together and celebrating with loved ones. Sadly, however, for some people without family or close friends, it can feel like one of the loneliest days of the year. A time when isolation, loss and grief are even more keenly felt.

Get ready for a season of warmth and connection! For the 14th year running, we’re delighted to be hosting our Christmas programme of events throughout the festive season, including our Christmas Special at All Saints Church in Wokingham on Thursday 18th at 11am and our wonderful chef cooked Christmas Day Lunch.

“I’m so grateful to the Link for the care and kindness during a difficult, lonely time in my life. I am truly amazed by what you do. Thank you.”

Refer yourself or someone you know

We understand how difficult and painful the festive season can be for those on their own. We're bringing festive cheer to those who are alone in Wokingham Borough and who would love some extra company. This will include a friend to talk to, gifts and on Christmas Day, a delicious, traditional dinner at a local venue or by doorstep delivery by a friendly volunteer.

If you or someone you know would like to join us, complete a referral form below and our team will be in touch.

Help us make Christmas special for those who would otherwise be alone. We’re looking for volunteer drivers to deliver meals or bring guests to and from our lunch (especially “sit-down drivers” to join the meal). Please note all of our onsite roles have now been filled. Support us

Funding is needed to allow us to run a comprehensive, and varied, programme of events throughout the Christmas period. We also want to ensure that all our Link Friends receive a gift from us, as it may be the only one they are given.
