Christmas

For many, Christmas Day is a day for family, for getting together and celebrating with loved ones. Sadly, however, for some people without family or close friends, it can feel like one of the loneliest days of the year. A time when isolation, loss and grief are even more keenly felt.

Get ready for a season of warmth and connection for the 14th year running! We are hosting a Christmas programme of events throughout the festive season, including our Christmas Special (All Saints Church, 18 December at 11 am) and our wonderful chef-cooked Christmas Day Lunch.

Refer yourself or someone you know

We understand how difficult and painful the festive season can be for those on their own. We're bringing festive cheer to those who are alone in Wokingham Borough and who would love some extra company. This will include a friend to talk to, gifts and on Christmas Day, a delicious, traditional dinner at a local venue or by doorstep delivery by a friendly volunteer. If you or someone you know would like to join us, complete a referral form below and our team will be in touch.

Could you support us this Christmas?

Funding is urgently needed to allow us to run a comprehensive, and varied, programme of events throughout the Christmas period. We also want to ensure that all our Link Friends receive a gift from us, as it may be the only one they are given.

We rely heavily on donations to support those in our community who need us most. With your help we can bring some festive cheer to many older people who would otherwise be facing the season alone and then carry on our vital support throughout the winter months!

A Christmas to remember

Last year’s festive programme was our biggest yet, bringing people of all ages together through events, creative workshops, group outings, school connections and a joyful Christmas Day celebration.

Thanks to the generosity of our community and local partners and funders, our Christmas appeal raised an incredible £24,207, helping us support hundreds of people through what can be a difficult season. Our dedicated team and volunteers worked tirelessly to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and to deliver a truly varied calendar of events that sparked companionship, creativity and cheer.
