25 years of friendship

A very special celebration

On 26 October, we were delighted to host a special event to celebrate a major milestone in our journey.

The event brought together our team, our voluntary sector partners, dedicated volunteers, Link Friends, and fellow advocates who share our commitment to building connections that matter.

It was an inspiring and insightful afternoon, with our esteemed speakers who share our passion for fostering meaningful connections:

⭐ Keynote presenter: Professor Christina R. Victor from Brunel University, renowned for her work on health inequalities, loneliness, and the experiences of later life within minority communities.

⭐ Special guest: Matt Pope, Director of Adult Social Services at Wokingham Borough Council, shedding light on the council's dedication to supporting older individuals.

Most of all, the event was a chance to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported The Link Visiting Scheme in the past quarter century. Through the work of our charity, we’ve seen lives transformed, adding thousands of hours of friendship, laughter and fun to people who had felt forgotten.
