September at our community café

About Link Thursdays

Hosted by The Link Visiting Scheme, Link Thursdays is a weekly community space and café open from 10am - 1pm every Thursday.

Link Thursdays is an award-winning project! A vibrant, welcoming space each week where anyone in the community can just turn up with a guarantee of a warm welcome. We host a range of activities, friendship tables, and pride ourselves with being dementia friendly. The newly refurbished All Saints Church offers hot drinks, freshly baked cakes, and snacks to be enjoyed by all! Join us on Thursdays for a coffee and a chat — or settle in with some knitting or a game of dominoes.

What is Fit for Life?

Led by Karen, a qualified physiotherapist, Fit for Life takes place every Thursday. The class is open to absolutely anyone, costs just £3, and includes a light lunch.

Having a physiotherapist at the helm makes all the difference. Karen brings expert knowledge of how the body moves, which means the class is safe, thoughtful, and tailored to help everyone.

But don't be fooled into thinking this is a serious workout! The whole idea behind Fit for Life is to have fun and get moving without even realising you're exercising. Each 40-minute session features a blend of seated, supported, and gentle movement exercises, thoughtfully adapted to suit all mobility levels.

As Dr. Kenneth Cooper once said, "We do not stop exercising because we grow old. We grow old because we stop exercising." Keeping our bodies moving, in whatever way works for us, is one of the most important things we can do for our health and happiness.
