Curry Night raises £1,118

Our annual Charity Curry Night was a heart-warming success, bringing together friends, supporters, and volunteers for an evening of flavour, fun, and fundraising at The Tamarind Tree in Wokingham.

Held on Tuesday, 4 November, guests enjoyed a delicious two-course curry meal, shared great conversation, and soaked up the welcoming atmosphere, all while supporting our mission.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who joined us, donated raffle and auction prizes, and supported the event, we’re delighted to announce that the evening raised an incredible £1,118 for our Christmas Fundraising Appeal. This fantastic total will go directly towards helping us bring warmth, connection, and festive cheer to those who need it most this winter.

A huge thank you to Koush and the team at The Tamarind Tree for their wonderful hospitality, ensuring our guests were so well looked after. We’re also extremely grateful to all who kindly donated prizes, including Blandy & Blandy Solicitors, Ascot Racecourse, Haringtons Wokingham, and Tesco Wokingham. And a special shout-out to Stewart Turkington Photography for capturing the evening so beautifully.

Thank you to everyone who made the night so special. Your support means the world to us and to the older people who will feel the impact this Christmas.

Our Christmas appeal 🎄

For many, Christmas Day is a day for family, for getting together and celebrating with loved ones. Sadly, however, for some people without family or close friends, it is the loneliest day of the year. A time when isolation, loss and grief are even more keenly felt. For the 14th year running, we're planning to bring festive cheer to those who are alone and who would love some extra company. This includes having a friend to talk to, a delicious meal on the day plus a gift of treats.

This year, we’re aiming to raise £25,000 to help us run a full programme of festive events and activities throughout December, and to ensure every one of our Link Friends receives a special gift, often the only one they’ll receive.
