Kindness Trees are back
Bringing Christmas cheer across Wokingham
There’s a definite festive buzz in the air as Christmas lights and decorations begin to brighten up Wokingham, and here at Link Visiting, we’re so excited to launch our third annual Kindness Tree campaign. It’s one of our favourite traditions: a simple, uplifting way for our community to come together and spread warmth, joy, and connection to older people who may be feeling lonely at this time of year.
For many, Christmas can feel like the loneliest time of year. A time when isolation, loss and grief are even more keenly felt. Through our Christmas fundraiser and Christmas Kindness Campaign, we aim to change that, bringing comfort, companionship, and festive magic to those who need it most. With your support, we’ll be delivering gifts, hosting a full programme of Christmas events, and welcoming people to our cherished Christmas Day lunch.
How to get involved – in three simple steps
Taking part in the Kindness Tree campaign couldn’t be easier, and every act of generosity, big or small, makes a real difference.
Choose a gift tag
Pop along to any Kindness Tree, pick a tag, and follow the instructions. Some tags invite you to donate via a QR code; others guide you to our Amazon wishlist; or you can choose to buy a gift locally to support nearby businesses.Return your gift
Bring your unwrapped gift back to the same location before 15th December. Our volunteers will then carefully sort and deliver gifts in time for Christmas.See your kindness in action
Follow us on social media to see the impact your generosity makes. For many of our Link Friends, this will be the only gift they receive this Christmas. Your kindness truly matters.
Where to find a Kindness Tree
You can get involved at any of our wonderful host locations across Wokingham and beyond:
Berkshire Physiotherapy • David Cliff Estate Agents • Earley Town Council • Fiona Parry Boutique • Nuffield Health & Wellbeing Gym • Places Leisure • Sedero Lounge • Shinfield Parish Council • Wokingham Town Council • Woodley Town Council
Each tree is filled with tags waiting to be chosen—and each one represents a moment of joy you can give to someone who may otherwise feel forgotten.
As we step into the festive season, we’re reminded every day that community kindness is powerful. Whether you donate, shop, or simply help spread the word, you’ll be helping us bring compassion, connection, and Christmas cheer to older people across Wokingham.
Thank you for supporting the Kindness Tree campaign—and for making this Christmas a little brighter for those who need it most.
Last Christmas
Last year’s Kindness Tree campaign was a huge success. We were overwhelmed by our existing local business partners and many more new ones who were keen to bring additional joy and cheer to our Link Friends.
Local businesses shared: “We just love being and feeling part of this incredible charity” and: “The job of ‘caring’ is so easy to talk about but hard to do, we’re all guilty sometimes, so to have people like Liz and the wider team is amazing and we intend to continue to support them as much as we can.”
